Splitting off Line 1/2 to Line 1 and 2

On some Modems and V-Tech Phones, line 1/2 are in the same phone port. This can be identified by the 2 pair wire, instead of 1 pair. 

Clip the outer 2 wires to separate line 2 from line 1

This diagram explains splitting off Line 1/2 to Line 1 and Line 2, on the other end. 

Line 1 and 2 are on one side. 

2 center pins are line 1.

2 Outer pins are Line 2

So, line 1/2 is on one end and line 1 is split from line 2 on the other end 

Be sure to get the cut pair, Line 2, into the center pairs of the RJ-11 end.
